Help Wanted: Mommy

(2007)

(2008)

These are my people.
My employers.
I will be in this specific job for 20+ years. No vacation, no sick, so benefits, per se.
But, that's ok.

Mothers aren't valued very much. However, we don't value ourselves.
Your job, my job, as a mother is to manage and lead.
We are too often relegating ourselves to a low level, grunt worker.
Why don't we delegate more? Why don't we manage more?
We are upper management. We have teachers, kung fu teachers, sunday school teachers, doctors, dentists in our employ.
Act like it, women!

Stand up. Wipe that bleck off your shirt. Brush your hair. Paint your toes. You're a mother. Dress like it.

Love what you do, and do the job proudly. Reject things that are a waste of your time. Reject things that are beneath you. Reject things that can be, nay, should be taught to your child....that whole "teach a man to fish" thing.

I love you, mothers...you fellow laborers. Is there a Mommy Union? Hmm...different topic. That's ok.

Find a mother ahead of you, and pick her brain. Find a mother behind you, and pick her some flowers. Love each other. No one else cares what color your kids' poop is. No one else can give you suggestions for dinner tonite. No one else cares how your kid did in the track meet today. Except another mother in the trenches.

Love each other.
