Summer Kids Activity: Water color

I'm going to do a short series on fun summer kids activities. Here's the first one:

No, its not "how to clean a messy kitchen". Watercolor.
I'm taking a class right now, on Monday nights, called "The Artist's Way", from a book by Julia Cameron. Its really interesting and fun. One of the at home activities they are having you do, is this....try it with your kids.

1. Draw a line from one side of the paper to the other.
2. Draw another line from one side of the paper to the other.
3. Draw another line, same as above. Any direction you want.
4. Draw 5 circles anywhere on the page. Any size you want. Anywhere you want.
5. Draw and arched line through the page.
6. Now fill in some of the spaces you created. You can fill them with polka dots, lines, solids, smiley faces. Whatever. Sign your work. That's it!

So, Peyton did hers:

And, I did mine. But, instead of doing them in boring pencil and crayon, we decided to water color them.

She loved this activity (she's 9 1/2), and it was amazing how similar, yet different these turned out. I think it would be cool to do a series of these, framed in black, and put them in a brightly colored play room. Dontcha think?!
